Doxycycline is a new-generation antibiotic of the tetracycline group.
The main chemical characteristic of this molecule is its marked fat solubility.
One gram contains:

Compared to the other members of its family,
Doxycycline 50% Chemifarma is much less affected by calcium and magnesium ions in the water and by food in the digestive tract (relative bioavailability equal to 83.23% + 5.99%). The maximum concentration is reached after 1.7 hours (Tmax equal to 1.73±0.06 hours); in blood higher concentrations than 1.0 J.lg/ml may be kept until 24 hours (chart 1). The drug distribution is complete in the whole body. The drug depletion through the intestinal mucosa permits to relieve liver and kidneys.
Doxycycline is absorbed in hislrlfrW6unts (Cmax equal to 4.47+-0.16 pg/mll by the intestinal mucosa starting from 30 minutes after the administration.
THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS
Chronic respiratory disease and other respiratory pathologies sustained in particular by Pasteurella soo, Mycoplasma spp, Haemophilus gallina rum, Bordetella avium and Chlamydia psittaci.
ADMINISTRATION
Carefully dilute the therapeutic dose in an adequate amount of drinking water and administer every 12 hours.
Remove any non-medicated liquid feed from the drinking-trough and administer the medicated one until complete consume. Then re-administer non-medicated drinking water.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Administration to animals sensitive to tetracyclines is not recommended.
Not use for lactating animals.
WARNINGS
Do not administer simultaneously with anti-acids, kaolin, calcium, iron and magnesium ions.
Avoid any direct contact with the product during handling.
Do not exceed the recommended dosage.
UNDESIRED EFFECTS
Photosensitisation. In case of prolonged treatment, alterations of the digestive system due to intestinal disbiosis can occur.
VALIDITY PERIOD OF THE PRODUCT CORRECTLY STORED:
36 months. Store at temperature not exceeding
30°C. Keep away from light.
Use immediately after opening.
Shelf life after reconstitution 12 hours. Keep at room temperature.
